It’s all about loving our neighbor, wherever they live.

Jen and David believe that loving our neighbor means loving across all kinds of barriers and borders.

During the missional component of VBS in 2022 and 2023, Jen and David partnered with Hands and Feet in Cape Town to give children in Glen Ellyn a global perspective and an opportunity to love their neighbor. Throughout the week, the children in Glen Ellyn developed compassion, an awareness of poverty, a global perspective, and were empowered to make a tangible difference in the lives of kids in Cape Town, South Africa. Seeing the positive impact both on the children in Glen Ellyn and the lives of the children and families in Cape Town South Africa, planted a seed to start the U.S. branch of Hands and Feet.

We had two interconnected goals when we founded the U.S. Branch of Hands and Feet:

1. To empower children and families in the Chicagoland area (and beyond) to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to make a difference in the lives of at risk kids and families in 7de Laan, Cape Town, South Africa.

2. To support the work of Hands and Feet and bring hope and change to the hurting communities of 7de Laan.

Our not for profit is founded on the belief that kids and their families can make a difference and that making a difference makes us all better.

“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy” - Psalm 82:3-4a.
